e.g. As described in line 8-11 (“But she...rich”), Lange’s shift to portrait photography in the camps is most analogous to

  (A) a therapist who goes back to school to learn about new developments in her field

  (B) a musician who plays two instruments equally well

  (C) a movie reviewer who employs her signature style when she begins reviewing novels

  (D) a celebrated athlete who retires, then returns to the sport

  (E) a popular horror film director who starts to illustrate children’s book

But she soon drew upon her area of greatest mastery: always a portrait photographer, Lange turned toward the poor the same eye she had previously directed toward the rich.

e.g. John Steinbeck and Willa Cather (lines 22-23) serve as examples of writers who were selected by the author because of their

  (A) colorful and unusual settings

  (B) intriguing intellectual ideas

  (C) focus on the natural world

  (D) portrayal of strong characters

  (E) literary reputation worldwide

I read all the Southern writers I could find in the Vallejo library; then I began to read any writer who wrote about nature or about people who worked the land. So I discovered John Steinbeck and his Salinas Valley; and Willa Cather and her Nebraska---anyone who would say something about dirt and trees, clear streams, and open sky.

例子题答案往前找,即这两者是any writer who wrote about nature or about people who worked the land的例子。

e.g. Both passages are concerned chiefly with

  (A) the causes of the Cold War

  (B) the aftermath of the Cold War

  (C) European political ideologies

  (D) Soviet leaders and policies

  (E) the devastation of the Second World War

  Passage 1

Traditionalist scholars generally supported the basic thrust of American policy toward Russia, which was known as containment. These scholars blamed the Cold War on Soviet expansionism in Europe, which they saw as motivated by either communist ideology, traditional Russian great-power foreign policy goals, or, most often, a combination of the two.

  Passage 2

The revisionist school that developed over the Cold War strongly disagreed with the traditionalists about the Soviet threat. They insist that in 1945 the Soviet union     , badly damaged by the fighting during the Second World War and having suffered huge population losses, was far weaker than the United States and in no position to threat the West.

  …

Then why did the United States react so strongly against Soviet gains after the Second World War? The main culprit, the revisionists generally argued, was American capitalism and its insatiable demand for new markets and additional raw materials, which has turned the United States into an expansionist power.
