哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University)，全称纽约市哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University in the City of New York)，简称哥大，是一所位于美国纽约市的私立研究型大学，常春藤盟校之一。哥伦比亚大学是纽约州历史最悠久的大学，同样也是美国第五古老的大学。时 至今日，哥伦比亚大学全球海外中心遍布世界各地，诸如安曼、北京、伊斯坦布尔、巴黎、孟买、里约热内卢、圣地亚哥和内罗毕。

哥伦比亚大学是世界最具声望的高等学府。它位于美国纽约市曼哈顿的晨边高地，濒临哈德逊河，在中央公园北面。它于1754年根据英国国王乔治二世颁 布的《国王宪章》而成立，被命名为国王学院，是美洲大陆最古老的学院之一。同属皇家宪章的还有达特茅斯学院和威廉玛丽学院。1784年曾改名为“哥伦比亚 学院”，美国独立战争后为纪念发现美洲大陆的哥伦布而更名为哥伦比亚学院，1896年成为哥伦比亚大学。同年，哥伦比亚大学从麦迪逊大道迁往了曼哈顿附近 的晨边高地，使学校拥有了六个街区约32英亩的土地。哥伦比亚大学由20个学院和众多下属研究机构组成，其中知名的学院包括商学院、新闻界名人约瑟夫·普 利策1912年创办的新闻学院、教育学院以及工程与应用科学学院等。
